Top 5 Musicals To Beat Those End Of Summer Blues!

British summertime; There’s nothing quite like it. Endless days meandering around the capital, sipping cider in quaint beer gardens and blissful evenings watching the sun set over the Thames.

The changing season brings crisp winds, abundant rainfall and chunky sweaters. The nights stretch longer, the leaves float down and the heat of the sun mellows and fades.

Brian Gilligan Lands Leading Role In The Commitments, West End Shows Extend + More! #WestEndUpdate

Jamie Lloyd’s West End production of The Commitments has confirmed its new cast. Following the departure of Killian Donnelly, the role of Deco is now being played by one of his former understudies Brian Gilligan. His casting came about after he was discovered singing ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’ backstage at the Palace Theatre by the show’s associate director C Jay Ranger. Ranger recommended Gilligan to Lloyd, who saw him for an audition and cast him a few weeks later.

A new generation of talent energises new musical The Commitments

Currently in rehearsals and based on the 1991 film of the same name,
The Commitments musical will begin previews at the Palace Theatre late next month.  Novelist Roddy Doyle on whose original book the film was based, says of the youthful cast: "What amuses me most is the fact that only one of them was born when I wrote the novel."   With most of the cast hot out of drama school the show will be a great platform for their talent and a springboard for their burgeoning careers.
